Staying Connected

Staying connected with our inner self, our environment, and utmost with our roots is the simplest thing to do to keep us grounded. We need no special time set side to connect to the outside world -- a best time is during a drive from home to office and back home and when our mind is not wandering but trying to connect with something that catches our eye. Sometimes, just looking at a layman can help us realize of all the things that we have achieved, things that we once thought of as luxuries, but now seem to be necessities.

While we assess our achievements, be thankful to the GOD/power/positive energy that has been controlling and helping us in every phase of our goals. The realization that it's not merely our actions that have helped us achieve but a power that has been in actual control, makes us grateful and humble.

Sometimes a visit to a hospital to see someone, or a day at an NGO brings a realization of the helplessness man go through when we can not be in control of our life the way we want.

In what so ever way, staying connected makes us be a good human and helps us to empathize/truly feel for other fellow beings. Eventually, being a good fellow being helps us to be content with life and what it has to offer!!!

I've learned that...

...if someone says something unkind about me,
I must live so that none believes it.

...you can make someone's day by simply sending them a little note.

...the greater a person's sense of guilt,
the greater his or her needs to cast blame on others.

...no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today,
life does go on, and will be better tomorrow.

...motel mattresses are better on the side away from the phone.

...that regardless of your relationship with your parents,
you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.

...making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life".

...you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands.
You need to be able to throw something back.

...if you pursue happiness, it will elude you.
But if you focus on the needs of others, your work,
meeting new people, and doing the very best you can
to the people around you, happiness will find you.

...whenever I decide something with kindness,
I usually make the right decision.

...even when I have pains, I don't have to be one:-).

...every day you should reach out and touch someone.
People love human touches -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly
pat on the back.

...life sometimes gives you a second chance.

...I still have a lot to learn and miles to go, before I sleep!
